Breeder Update:
Last
Updated – 10-20-2011
The time has come for me to minimize my
kennel. I retired from teaching Dec. 31, 2010, after 35 years, and now I need
to concentrate on my health. I’ve spent the past 10 months going to doctors, physical
therapy, having tests and x-rays done, and the diagnosis is that I need both
hips replaced. Two doctors have told me to put it off as long as I can stand
it, but the pain sometimes is unbearable.
Therefore, I will be limiting my blue
heeler & Chihuahua breeding to one or two litters a year. Gracie (blue
heeler daughter of Reda and Haus)
is the only female I have to breed at this time. My older heeler girls – Jetta
and Zicoh – deserve to retire with me. They have
blessed us with some wonderful puppies over the past few years, so I had them
spayed this spring. If anyone would be willing to give them a good home, I
would consider adopting them out, but if no one is interested, they can just
lay around here with me for the rest of their days. To learn more about each
girl, just click on her name below and a page will open with her information.

CHIHUAHUAS: Dorita and her daughter Una-Mariah
just gave birth to their litters in August. Dorita’s
litter (2 boys and 1 girl) was born Aug. 20th, and Una’s
litter (1 boy and 1 girl) was born Aug. 23rd. Dorita
is now spayed and will be up for adoption when her puppies are all gone. She
weighs 6.2#. That will leave me with one
Chihuahua female to breed.
I have 3 males – Chico, Bear & Tug.
Tug (AKC registered) is the son of Chico and Dorita,
which makes him a half-brother to Una-Mariah. He just
turned one year old on May 21, 2011. He weighs 4# 6 oz. Bear is CKC registered and weighs 5#; Chico
weighs 5.5# and is AKC registered – Chico and Bear are half-brothers.
BLUE
HEELERS: For my breeding with Gracie, I have used Rock. She should
deliver her first litter around Nov. 14, 2011. I know this isn’t what I had originally
planned, but sometimes things change.
Gracie decided she wanted to be bred NOW, so she got out of her kennel
and Rock got out of his, and now we have puppies on the way. Rock has never
gotten out of his kennel before, so this must be an omen.
All of my heelers are CKC (Continental
Kennel Club) registered.
This has not been an easy decision for
me. I love my heelers and my Chihuahuas. But the sleepless nights due to pain
have worn me down, and it isn’t fair to the dogs…I just can’t do for them like
I once did.
So, I send a great big THANK
YOU to all of you who have purchased puppies from us over the past 10
years. You’ve become our extended family.
If you would consider adopting any of
my dogs, please e-mail me or call me. Thanks so much!
Sincerely,
Bev Eichenlaub
